New game store, new games
The year has started off nicely to say the least. Although I’m not purchasing as many titles for my collection as I usually do, I have been able to find a few bargains here and there.
While on a trip to Marion, VA I was able to check out a new store – G2K Games. I found the staff to be very respectful – they knew when to ask if I needed help and didn’t hound me. That is a major plus and one of the major reasons I don’t shop as much at some of the larger chain stores. G2K had a large selection of titles for the NES, Sega Genesis, Super NES, PS2, PS3, Xbox 360 and a nice selection of hard to find titles and systems (example – Sega Saturn for $24 and Demon’s Crest for SNES). Needless to say, next time I’m in the area I will be more than happy to pay these guy’s another visit.
As for the collection – I have added a few more titles to my NES collection. Nothing too noteworthy, however The Krion Conquest has been seeing a lot of play time. Although it is a HUGE Mega Man clone, I still find the game worthy of sitting down to play for a few minutes at a time. Notable titles going into my collection have been Nobunaga’s Ambition for Gameboy, Mega Man X2 for SNES, and Wonder Boy III for Sega Genesis.
January has been a pretty slow month thus far. My goals from now through the early part of spring are to go through my collection and weed out titles I don’t need (won’t be touching the NES titles as my goal is to own all released titles for the system), get rid of other items I don’t need (Dj systems, electronics, books, etc.), and do some work around the house. Sounds almost like I have a business venture and hobby on my hands, all at the same time.
Till next time – happy collecting!
